The line this week from many journalists commentating on the Lewis Morgan transfer have claimed Celtic recieved a significant six figure sum for the player.

However, this appears to have been blown out of the water by Mail Sport who have been brave enough to put a price to the potential move.

If the newspaper is correct Celtic are only making their money back from the transfer and not a significant amount of cash as first reported.

Back when Morgan signed for Celtic it was reported by the BBC that the club had spent around £300k to bring the winger in from St Mirren.

MailSport report that’s the exact fee Inter Miami will pay to land Lewis Morgan who has agreed personal terms with the new MLS outfit.

Celtic are never forthcoming with their transfer fees unless it’s significant funds that become interest of the London stock exchange. There were two separate stock exchange statements for Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney’s fees when they moved on.

Lewis is awaiting a work permit before making the switch.

  1. Great move for him nonetheless. I think getting that back is decent business, good luck to the lad…. But he wasn’t good enough
