Celtic’s new loan defender Moritz Jenz has joined up with the squad ahead of the new season.
While it can be daunting for any new player walking into a squad, there’s a familiar face among the Celtic setup for the German who will most likely help him settle that little bit quicker.
Hoops midfielder Matt O’Riley and Moritz were teammates back in their Fulham days when they were coming through the ranks together.
Matt signed for Celtic back in January and settled into the side very well. Jenz will now have the opportunity to share a field with Matt once again but at a much higher and more pressurised level.
The pair could be on the same pitch during Celtic’s Champions League campaign this season – something that will excite both of them.
Celtic announced the double signing of both Jenz and Mooy on Tuesday taking the transfer tally to six, seven if you count Mazda’s loan deal being turned into a permanent deal.
It’s all looking good for the Hoops at the moment, but we can’t be complacent. It’s time to show why we are champions and grow bigger and stronger than we were last season.
