Moritz Jenz has been a revelation since moving to Schalke from Celtic in January. The German defender is yet to taste defeat and has kept five clean sheets out of six at the heart of Schalke’s defence.

Schalke conceded ten goals in the prior three games games before Mortiz joined – they now have only conceded one goal in six and have yet to taste defeat.

It’s been a massive turnaround in the fortunes of the German club who are fighting relegation this season.

Jenz was surplus to requirements at Celtic after Starfelt came back from a longterm injury and Kobayashi was signed from Japan.

The centre-back did his part for the club this season and will be due a winners medal should Celtic go on to win the league.

Taking to social media on Saturday night to toast a victory, the big man was delighted and his former Celtic and Fulham teammate Matt O’Riley responded to Moritz.

We wish Jenz all the best for the rest of the season. If he manages to help Schalke stay in the German top flight, his deal will be made permanent.
