MORITZ JENZ has stated he wants to stay at Celtic beyond the expiry of his loan. The defender arrived at the Hoops on loan, with the club negotiating an option-to-buy clause into the player’s contract.

After his debut, many fans wouldn’t mind keeping the German defender at the club. He was brilliant throughout his debut and showed some positive signs going forward.

He’ll need to confidently perform when he’s called upon if he’s wanting Celtic to trigger the clause to bring him to the club permanently.

As quoted by The Sun, Jenz admitted that he wants to be part of Celtic after this season, saying;

“Personally, I want to play consistently on a high level and improve as a player.

“I also want to be a part of Celtic for the long-term.”

Moritz Jenz’s Celtic Role

It’s unclear what role he’ll play in the squad, but if he performs well, he’ll definitely push his way into the starting line-up. It’s likely that Starfelt will go back into the starting eleven when he returns from injury, but Jenz will certainly be pushing him.

An advantage for Jenz is that he’s a good footballer, can distribute the ball well and is comfortable on the ball. That’s the type of defenders Ange wants in his team.
