Japan manager Hajime Moriyasu does not have the best reputation among Celtic fans.

The 54 year old has failed to call up the talismanic Kyogo in any of his recent squads as well as neglecting the talent of Reo Hatate.

These snubs left many Hoops fans astounded and yet again, Moriyasu has put Celtic on the back burner.

According to Sponichi, the Japan boss was planning a European visit this month, saying:

“I will focus on the players who are called up, but I want to see the timing (including the players who are not called up) and prioritize them.”

Despite these claims about prioritising those who haven’t been called up, the most recent report from Sponichi gives no mention of a visit to Celtic from Moriyasu.

Instead, he took in Brighton’s FA Cup semi final with Manchester United to cast an eye on Karou Mitoma as well as watching the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu for Arsenal, Daichi Kamada for Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Ko Itakura.

It is baffling that month by month and every international break, several of Celtic’s top assets are ignored by their national team manager.

These latest reports will disappoint the likes of Kyogo and Hatate but it will also spur them on and motivate them to prove to Moriyasu what he is missing out on.
