MOTHERWELL have protested against the kick-off time for their Premier Sports Cup tie with Celtic at Fir Park.

The Steelmen were in action yesterday, defeated soundly by Hearts 3-0. They held up a banner before the match, with a simple message ‘TV Before Fans’.

Premier Sports allocated the two sides a 6.15 kick-off time for a midweek game, which is pretty poor given that many fans will be working during the day. It can’t be moved back, with The Rangers’ cup tie played during the regular slot.

However, with this planning from Premier, if Celtic’s tie has to go to Penalties, the broadcaster is in a bit of a pickle. Do they cut the Celtic game or delay the coverage of the game at Ibrox?

It’s extremely poor from Premier Sports; not a lot of thought has gone into it, and has shown disregard for the fans wishing to attend the match. As things stand, the cup match will go ahead on the 19th of October at 6.15 pm.
