MOUSSA DEMBELE could be on his way to the Premier League this summer, but it’s not great news for Celtic,.

The bhoys sold Moussa for a record fee at the time [£21m] to French side Lyon but also added a sell-on clause. The Hoops always look to get a little extra out of their top players. The tactic has worked effectively over the years.

Celtic might not be looking at anything substantial with Moussa in the final year of his contract and Lyon reportedly open to lower offers for the former Celtic striker.

Football Scotland report Southampton are weighing up an offer for Moussa ahead of the new season and could land the player for around £10m.

It‘s unknown if Celtic’s sell-on clause is a percentage of profit from the deal or a straight percentage of the sale. If it’s the former then Celtic will be due nothing.

Celtic’s finances

The club has been selling their biggest assets over the years to keep the club on good financial footing. Something they don’t need to do this season with guaranteed Champions League football. The bhoys will ear a lot of money from being in Europe’s top competition.

The Moussa money would have been nice but sometimes things don’t work out.
