Steven Mouyokolo will undergo an operation in France in the next few days after suffering another injury setback in his career.

The big defender has not had the best of times at his last few clubs with his injury issues but Neil Lennon decided to gamble on him – A gamble which doesn’t look to have paid off.

It’s a hammer blow for the player who was seeing more game time than he probably expected in the early part of this season. The amount of time he is out for will become clearer after he has surgery.

You have to feel for Steven who was looking for a fresh start in the Hoops. He has a deal until the end of the season but may not see his Celtic career go any further after this latest setback.

Celtic still have a good amount of options for the centre back positions with wider players like Mulgrew and Lustig being able to fill in if needed.

Neil Lennon’s men have Hearts this Saturday in Edinburgh then it’s off to Milan for Champions League game 1 against A.C; he will hope not to have anymore fresh injury concerns for these two games.
