An online report originating from Belgium has claimed to know the details of Charly Musonda’s 18-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old signed up until the end of next season yesterday after Celtic brokered a deal with Chelsea.

However, this site claims Celtic have forked out a large sum of money to land the player.

Reports yesterday pointed towards an 800k loan fee that would grow to £1.2million if Celtic make next seasons Champions League.

However, this report claims Celtic have spent upwards of £5million to land the midfielder paying most of his £40k wages.

If this is true, it would be a massive outlay for the club. With the talent this lad possesses it’s not beyond the realms of possibility it just seems too rich for Celtic’s blood for a loan deal. Unless there’s an agreed upon fee for the star after the loan spell which has not been reported.

  1. Away from the speculative financial details of the deal (Daily Record as a source indeed!) the most important aspect that I have noticed is that Chelsea have no right of recall on the player for the 18 months that we have him. It’s quite unusual for a loan deal to have this clause but when Charly starts setting them up for all and sundry us Tims certainly ain’t gonna be complaining.

  2. I remember the last Celtic player said to be on 40K/week,it was non other than Henrik Larsson.
If Musonda can bring the club half the success, and most importantly the fans, half the entertainment and pure joy that the King of Kings did, then the reported fortune it’s going to cost the club will be money well spent by the board.Money which will be more than paid back 2/3 fold should he help us beat Zenit and progress in the Europa League.
