It was a very telling moment on Sunday with Celtic chasing a winner, John Kennedy only brought Leigh Griffiths on with a few minutes left on the clock.

The striker has not been trusted at all this season which stems from pre-season when Leigh turned up to training ridiculously unfit.

There’s no doubt Leigh is a goalscorer but Neil Lennon clearly had enough of the player and stopped playing him. John Kennedy is yet to start the frontman in his interim role.

As we approach the end of the season, it looks like Edouard will get his final run as a Celtic player before moving on in the summer if the club get their valuation for the Frenchman.

It leaves Leigh in a precarious position and very much out of the Scotland picture for the Euro’s.

Charlie Nicholas told SunSport time looks up for Leigh at Celtic.

“Leigh Griffiths’ time at Celtic must be up now.

“His team was drawing against Rangers on Sunday and in need of a goal, yet he was only sent on in the 88th minute.

“What does that tell you?

“Griffiths must be embarrassed. Things have gone into meltdown for the 30-year-old in the last three months.

“When it was a big game and Griffiths was on the bench, you always thought he could come on and score a free-kick or a long shot from nowhere.

“The fact he only got a handful of minutes at the weekend doesn’t look good.

“A new manager could come in and accept Griffiths but I just can’t see it.

“I don’t understand why the striker isn’t doing everything he can to kick Steve Clarke’s door down and make sure he is in the Scotland squad ahead of this summer’s Euros.”

If Eddy is sold and Leigh was moved on, we would have Albian Ajeti and Patryk Klimala as our two strikers, which right now, sounds like a horror scenario.

It’s up to Celtic to either sort Leigh out our line up viable replacements.

  1. Charlie Ridiculous shouldn’t talk too much about embarrassment, his second spell at Celtic is the definition of Embarrassment.

Someone once told me he was getting paid to drag that fat arse of his around Scotland during that time, but i find that hard to believe.
