SHUNSUKE NAKAMURA is one of Celtic’s most iconic players. His free-kicks are renowned worldwide; ones against Kilmarnock and Manchester United stand out for me.

Still playing football at the age of 43, the former Celtic player has tipped more Japanese players to venture into Europe and sign for Celtic. This season, four from the county have already signed for Celtic.

Of course, Ange knows the country very well, having managed there. This gives him the advantage of knowing some of the players and if they have what it takes to play in Europe. The Celtic boss has said that he will look to dive into other markets, naming checking the Saudi and Iran league and saying that he believes many Asian players have what it takes to play at Europe’s top level.

“I hope more Japanese players will join Celtic in the future and help the club. I am one of the Celtic supporters in the Far East now and I hope they will all carve their name in the history of the club. I wish them the best of luck.” [Daily Record]

The signings Ange has made have been a success. The players are top-class.

Postecoglou clearly has some players in mind that he would like to add to the squad as he looks forward to the summer window. Thankfully, he has confirmed that it won’t be as hectic as last.

The summer window will allow Postecoglou to add quality to his squad ahead of the prospect Champions League football.
