NEIL LENNON has addressed the Marian Shved situation after the Ukranian failed to make the bench for the Europa League tie with AIK and also didn’t get on against Dunfermline at the weekend.

Celtic fans have seen the clips of Shved and got a glimpse of the player against Kalju when he rifled home his first Celtic goal as a late sub.

The fans have been excited for Marian to make the switch to Glasgow since he was announced as a Celtic player back in January. The winger was loaned back out to his former club for the rest of the campaign and joined up with Celtic in the summer.

The 90 Minute Cynic bhoys asked the question of Neil Lennon at the post-match press conference and here’s what our manager had to say:

“Right now, he’s finding the going tough and it’s hard for him to make the breakthrough

“He’s a little bit frustrated, he just needs to up his tempo and his work

“It’s an adaptation period for him, he’s 21, he’s in a new country he doesn’t speak great English.

“We know we have a good player on our hands there and we’ll see more of him as the season progresses.”

What we can quickly dissect from that is Neil Lennon is demanding more from the player in training and wants to make sure he’s ready for a sustained amount of game time.

  1. Lennon needs to catch himself on & stop listening to the utterly clueless Kennedy – Shved is a much better prospect than Morgan will ever be & should have been on the bench instead. Morgan makes himself look busy but produces nothing of any real quality – his choice of passes, crosses & final balls consistently waste promising attacks. He’s just not good enough for Celtic & the sooner Lennon realizes that & gives Shved game time, the better.

  2. I’d rather a player done it on the pitch than in training. If Lewis Morgan is deemed good enough to make the Squad through his training ,then I’m afraid Shved has no chance. Morgan is Mince not Celtic Quality. I’ve seen enough of Shved in one game. He’s twice the player Morgan is.

  3. He didn’t have any problems knocking in the goals in Slovakia and making the Kalju keeper work hard in the 10 minutes he got as a sub, scoring one goal and forcing a save in that short time. I always said Lennon is not the man for the Celtic job, he doesn’t recognise real talent when it’s in front of him, prefers the likes of Lewis Morgan.

  4. Get him on the bench ffs Lennon. You’ll spoil players if you piss them off. Forrest can rest no problem. Get him played last 20 min of pish games. Build his confidence the way BR did with others. He just might be needed.

  5. Larry Is that why we’re playing people out of position and out of the main euro competition? Stupid Lennon could have beaten Cluj with that team last night. NL is a no surprises, like for like subs, watch and hope manager. Now stfu

  6. There are a lot games to be played and every player will get the chance to show the manager what he can do then if he is good enough then he may make the top 14 players that get game time week in week out…
This is going be a great season as we go for the top prize 9 in a row and every one in the squad has the chance to make the top 14 players….

  7. Marian should be playing even if we only get 45 minutes I’ve watched this guy and he can win games on his own Lennon is pudding the guy about and he will be looking for another club unless he gets on the park fuckin play him
