NEIL LENNON has provided an update on Mikey Johnston after the Irishman looked far from happy with his winger as he limped off the pitch against St Johnstone.

Mikey went down not long after coming on and Celtic held back the Klimala substitute to make sure he could continue. Johnston said he could and they made the switch for Edouard like originally planned. Minutes later the player was down and had to come off with the injury he sustained – leaving Neil Lennon raging his side were needlessly down to ten men.

There’s footage of Lenny using a couple of choice words aimed at the player while sitting in the dugout.

After the game, Neil Lennon was asked about Mikey and he said it looks like a wobble.

The Hoops boss confirmed to RecordSport: “Probably would have done, yeah. I probably would have got Ryan (Christie) on but he said he was alright.

“There’s a little wobble there in the knee and it’s a concern so I’m hoping it’s not too bad because we could do without another injury, we’ve had plenty over the last few weeks.”

Mikey has just come back from longterm injury and to have him out again for any period would be a blow. Moi also being out injured leaves Celtic with very few options on the left hand side.

If they continue to play 3-5-2 away from home then it becomes less of an issue. Fingers crossed Mikey will be okay.
