NEIL LENNON had someone in mind when he was addressing media driven hysteria with regards to his own job and some of his players.

Kris Commons used the terms ‘rank rotten’ and ‘bomb scare’ when talking about Celtic defender Shane Duffy. Read Kris Commons comments here.

When asked about the defender, Neil Lennon used those two phrases in-particular.

“Comments that he’s (Shane Duffy) rank rotten and that he’s a bomb scare, you’ve seen it you know what I’m talking about. I find it ridiculous.”

The Celtic manager then went further and commented that some people making the comments about Duffy and himself once walked the halls of Celtic Park and didn’t exactly play to his full potential.

“They need to start acting professionally, they need to stop telling porkies and there need to stop digging out players when they’ve been players themselves and didn’t have a great time the whole time when they were here either

Commons took a season on and a season off at Celtic while he was at the club. One season he was superb, the next one he couldn’t kick a ball to save himself.

There’s no doubt Neil’s comments were aimed at Kris.

The Celtic manager has backed himself and his team to get over this bad spell and begin to turn the screw.

There are signs the players are responding and had it not been for a very late lapse of concentration, all three points would have gone to Celtic.
