NEIL LENNON has used his post-match interview to congratulate his players on a well earned point. However, the Irishman was clear he wasn’t happy with the referee.

The Celtic boss claimed the bhoys could have had all three points, should have had another penalty and he wasn’t happy with the red card to Bayo.

“We thoroughly merited a point, if not 3 points” Lennon told Alison Conroy. “It’s a great start for us, you always want more.”

“I’m not happy about the red card & we should’ve had another penalty”

Bayo was sent off for a second yellow after the referee initially waved off claims he had hurt the goalkeeper competing for a spilled ball.

Bayo has every right to go for it and didn’t hurt the goalkeeper who conned the referee. Inexplicably after watching it happen and not giving a foul the referee checked on the goalkeeper who had clearly not been touched and then changed his mind – sending off the Celtic striker. It was incredible.

Ryan Christie should’ve also had a penalty for being fouled just inside the area.

Celtic for a great point in France and all things considered Rennes were lucky to get the same.
