The Celtic manager was full of praise for his right-back Hatem Elhmaed after he played a big part in Celtic’s thumping win over KR Reykjavik.

The player came in from the cold to start his first game of the season and his first game in quite some time. Last season, Elhmad’s injuries kept him out of the team for a large portion of the season.

When the defender has played, he’s looked sharp in defence as well as attack.

Getting the nod last night over Jeremie Frimpong was a surprise but the player made sure to make his opportunity count and has given Neil Lennon a dilemma ahead of the Dundee Utd game this weekend.

Speaking after the game to CelticTV, Lenny was impressed and pleased with Hatem:

“Very pleased. It’s a great ball by Hatem (for goal number four), I thought he was very good tonight. He looked strong and it was nice to see him back getting 90 minutes under his belt.

“He’s been knocking on the door and obviously with him and Jerie (Frimpong) you’ve got a good two to pick from.”

It’s a great problem to have, if both can stay fit they will both likely play a big part in the season.

Jeremie is full of energy and pace but Elhamed has shown he’s no slouch and has experience on his side.

It will be very interesting to see who Neil Lennon goes with on Saturday evening.
