NEIL LENNON has praised his most expensive Celtic signing Christopher Jullien as the player continues to develop in a Celtic jersey. The defender who was purchased for £7.2m (TransferMarkt) has made up for lost time since hitting his stride and has been a rock in the heart of the Celtic defence.
Jullien’s top moment in a Celtic jersey so far has to be his goal against Lazio. His late winner at Celtic Park set Celtic up for the reverse fixture where the bhoys would do the same again and take all six points from the Italians.
Neil Lennon is full of praise but he does admit he believes Jullien should be chipping in with more goals when it comes to getting on the end of corners.
“I always liked Christopher’s physicality, aerial threat and defensive capabilities.” Lennon told RecordSport.
“And we’re now seeing that manifest itself in his performances.
“He should actually have scored a few more goals by now, but he’s adapting to the British game well and has performed in Europe. too.
“Christopher’s in a good place and enjoying the intensity of being at Celtic.
“At first, it’s a bit of a shock, but players grow into it and then it becomes an exciting environment to be in.
“That’s what he’s beginning to experience now.”
Jullien has threatened to score more goals like he did against Lazio in the Europa League and you have to think more will come in the near future.
If his Celtic teammates can deliver quality balls into the penalty box then there’s every chance he’ll add to his goal tally.
Celtic have a massive run of games coming up between November and the end of the year. It will be all hands on deck for the bhoys when the last international break of the year is over and done with.
