NEIL LENNON took questions ahead of the Ross County game on Sunday.

The Celtic manager spoke during the week about signing Liam Shaw from Sheffield Wednesday on a pre-contract agreement.

After the win against Aberdeen, John Kennedy also confirmed the move for the 19-year-old midfielder.

However, today, when the Celtic boss was asked about the deal and any more information he could give on the subject, he quickly shut the question down.

“No. I can’t comment on that at the minute.” Neil Lennon explained on CelticTV.

After the Ben Davies deal fell through at the final hurdle during the January transfer window, Celtic fans are extra cautious about any new transfers potentially coming in.

We noted after the Aberdeen game the club had yet to confirm the deal on their social media channels which we found odd because there would be no reason not to make the announcement had Liam signed.

The manager’s backtracking today appears to suggest he was hasty with his confirmation. The communication channels at Celtic not syncing up once again.

Here’s what he said during the week:

“We’ve completed a deal for Liam Shaw, he’s signed a pre-contract. So that’s done and we are looking ahead. We’ve got a bit of work to do.”

We await confirmation on the deal for Liam.
