NEIL LENNON might not be the one who is managing him come the summer but the Irishman says there’s an excitement surrounding the transfer of Maryan Shved to Celtic.

The player was signed by Celtic in January but immediately loaned back to his Ukranian club where he has excelled in the second half of the season.

The attacking midfielder has been setting the world alight and even won Ukranian player of the month for his efforts in March. As he gets set to join the Scottish Champions this summer, Neil Lennon believes Maryan is an excellent prospect.

“I think we are all excited about him coming into the building. He looks a very exciting prospect so hopefully get to see him soon.” he told CelticTV.

He added: “Whether I’m the manager or not, we would like to be more forceful in the final third with pace and energy and people who can break the lines, people who can get behind the opposition.”

Shved made a brief stop in Scotland to sign his Celtic deal and do his medical back in January. The player caused a stir in the media with Celtic close to signing him but Brendan Rodgers knowing nothing about it.

If he can replicate the form, he’s currently in for the bhoys he could be very valuable.
