NEIL LENNON has confirmed his summer signing Luca Connell could be set to leave the club on loan before the deadline on Friday night.

There have been rumours today of the Irishman heading back down south to get some game time with Sunderland and the Celtic manager has confirmed a loan move is an option.

“It might be good for him to get out and get some game time.” Lennon told CelticTV. “He had a thigh injury which kept him out for a couple of months and now he is playing very well in the development team.”

Luca came in from Bolton and is starting to do very well in the reserves. He’s another one of the Celtic Irish contingents who the ROI international setup hold in high regard.

If the midfielder could get first-team games for the rest of the season he could be in a position to make the breakthrough in the summer.

He could be one of the final outs of this January window for the club.

Supporters are desperate to know if there’ll be any signings coming in the way before Friday evening. Neil Lennon has hinted the deals have dried up but never say never.

The club need to make sure they’re fully prepared for the final title push.
