Nei Lennon has confirmed Celtic are currently negotiating a deal with Motherwell over the sale of David Turnbull.

It has been reported the bhoys are closing in on the player a year after his medical scuppered a deal to bring him to Parkhead.

The Celtic boss confirmed talks are ongoing but he doesn’t know how far advanced the two clubs are.

Celtic take on Motherwell at Celtic Park on Sunday and at the moment, David will be pencilled in to play against the Scottish Champions. A deal this week would prevent that from happening and potentially see him turn out against Motherwell.

More than likely if he is signed this week, there will be a bedding in process before he gets proper game time. Given Olivier Ntcham is struggling to get into the first team squad, Turnbull will likely have to wait for his chance.
