Neil Lennon has gave Celtic fans a major boost this weekend by revealing the club has entered into talks with star striker Odsonne Edouard.

Eddy has two years left in his deal but the club won’t be comfortable letting the Frenchman run down his contract to go into its last year.

The plan has to be either; sign the player to a new deal or sell for maximum profit this summer.

With so much at stake next season, Celtic are making plans to boost their squad, but vitally, the Celtic manager had said he’ll do everything to try and keep Eddy at the club:

“Yes, there are talks with Edouard now. These are ongoing with his representatives.” Lennon told RecordSport.

“Ultimately, he’s a player we want around. He had a magnificent season and we want to keep him. It’s as simple as that.

“We’re doing everything we can to keep him here for at least another season.”

There’s no denying Edouard is our star player and the striker has the potential to go to the very top of the game — supporters just hope he has the ten in a row season in his sights before he decides to move.

It would be massive to sign the player to a new deal.
