NEIL LENNON has confirmed Celtic have reached an agreement with Hapoel over the sale of Hatem Abd Elhamed days after the Israeli club confirmed the deal.

Speaking at pre-match press conference before the Kalju game, the Irishman told superscoreboard a deal had been agreed and he has sought advice from both Nir Bitton and Beram Kayal.

Kayal was signed by Neil Lennon and both he and Bitton know the player.

Hatem is Neil Lennon’s fourth summer signing with 75% of his deals to date strengthening the defence.

The backline was in need of major surgery after a summer of exits. The Celtic boss knows he still has more work on that front before the window closes.

Celtic have been playing Kristofer Ajer out of position for the qualifiers so far. Getting reinforcements in will enable the bhoys to play their strongest players in their natural position.
