NEIL LENNON revealed he finally had correspondence with former Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers after his press conference on Wednesday. Neil revealed the pair had exchanged text messages wishing each other luck after their respective moves 24 hours prior.

While it would be handy for Neil to sit down or even have a phone conversation with the new Leicester boss, the Irishman knows Brendan will be up to his neck in it trying to sort himself and his new club for the next wee while.

The pair had been seen together on many occasions during Rodgers time at Celtic outwith the usual footballing arena. They were also healthy rivals with Neil Lennon and his Hibs side causing Celtic all sorts of bother last term.

The Interim Celtic coach knows he will speak to the man he replaced in due course but until then a simple text has sufficed.

“We texted each other the other day and I will give him a call when things settle down. It will be hectic for him as well.” Lennon told RecordSportRecordSport.

“He has just been unveiled and he is probably preparing for a game.

“He will be getting to know the staff, getting to know the players, looking for a house, all that type of stuff.

“He will be up to his neck in it I’m sure. But we did communicate with each other on Wednesday afternoon, which was great.

“He wished me the best and vice-versa. I know what Leicester is like as a club. It’s a fantastic club.”

Neil takes Celtic to his old stomping ground on Saturday evening hoping to continue Celtic’s charge towards the treble treble.

  1. Brendan you made a real boo boo there. You could have waited until the end of the season you might not think it now but I guarantee that you will wish you had waited, retrospect can really haunt you. Or did you really just hoodwink fans? . Talk is cheap. Celtic fans will never forget or forgive
