NEIL LENNON has confirmed there IS Celtic interest for Northen Ireland international Paddy McNair after reports this week claimed the club had made an enquiry.

The Middlesborough player is spinning his wheels at the English club and may be looking to move on this summer. After the Turnbull deal fell through the club are now looking at other options.

Asked if Paddy was someone the club was looking at, Neil Lenn told SunSport.“There’s an interest there, yeah.”

McNair can play defensive mid, centre back and even right back, his versatility could be invaluable to a team who plays so many games in a season. It remains to be seen if ‘Boro would want to sell. The club purchased the former Manchester Utd youngster from Sunderland for around £5million. That would be a large outlay for Celtic.

Paddy is apparently a fan of the Ibrox club but whether that’s true or not isn’t really material if he believes a move to the Scottish Champions would be a good career move.
