Neil Lennon delivered a huge update when it comes to his young midfielder Karamoko Dembele.

The tricky winger played the full bounce game against Hibs on Monday, scoring a goal and assisting in another. Karamoko has been in the reserves for quite some time even though he is only 17 but Neil Lennon has confirmed this season, the player is going to be a fully fledged member of the first team.

“We want Karamoko around the first-team squad this season. It’s that time now when he is going to be training with us all the time.” Lennon told SunSport.

“He may dip in and out and we just need to be careful with him as he’s still only 17. I was delighted with what I saw from. He scored and helped assist the second.”

Celtic fans have seen this lad grow up through the youth academy into the reserves and now into the first team squad. This by no means guarantees the player will start but if he’s in and around the squad and Neil Lennon wants to slowly introduce him – it wouldn’t hurt to play the winger in the last 30 minutes of a game to run at tired defenders.

Karamoko’s skill is there for all to see but he’s done well getting his upper body strong with the player showing he was no pushover against a physical Hibernian side.

  1. As it should be and with a few other younger lads in and around the first team this season , even if they do just get 2 or 3 games would be the way forward.
As we will need all hands on the pumps on the home front as they have got money and will spend it all trying to stop 10 in a row there wage bill will go through the roof and it is win or bust for them this season we need 5 new faces this window and play hard and fast and play like we want 10 from first game we can do it.
