Dermot seems to have a new favourite paper when it comes to leaking information. Anything coming from the majority shareholder’s camp seems to come through The Scottish Sun nowadays.

Speaking on the Huddle Podcast, SunSport chief sports journalist Derek McGregor believes Desmond will keep Neil Lennon in his position until the end of the season.

“Dermot Desmond had told Neil Lennon in the aftermath of the Ibrox loss he would get the opportunity to see out the season” Derek McGregor told Mark Wilson on the Huddle Podcast.

“At that point, Dermot had not seen the setbacks to Hibs and Livingston

“If there was a time for Dermot to pull the trigger it would have been immediately after the Livi draw, the fact that he hasn’t, Dermot looks like taking the position he doesn’t see the point in wholesale change now.

“I think they’ll feel sticking with Neil just now and in the meantime consider other options”

The Hoops fans have been looking for change to happen as soon as possible so we can start to rebuild if they don’t, season ticket renewals become very precarious for the club.

It doesn’t help the man making the ultimate decision is so detached from what’s going on ion the club on a day to day basis. It speaks to the bigger issue of having an absent decision-maker and an apathetic board who have no idea how the supporters are really suffering.

If Celtic fans need to suffer more tepid and embarrassing results between now and the end of the season, they are playing a very dangerous game.

To be honest, the silence from the club in general, telling us nothing is just as damaging.

  1. I want change right now as it might persuade some of our better players to stay if we make an exciting appointment but as regards season tickets I think they might need “the club like no other” banner back as i predict 10-15 thousand of the glory hunters to disappear again and another 2-3K who have just reached there limit of being treated like only their cash matters. As a 61 year old with 55 years service i wont be quitting just like i didn’t when as a season ticket holder i boycotted several Home games as a member of Celts for change in the 1990s

  2. Dont worry the board and Lawwell know exactly how the fans feel but they dont have a say its all down to Mr Desmond. The man doesnt care about fans.

  3. The inability to get transfer targets into the club is alarming.
From Foster , Tonev and now Davies add that the McGinn saga our inability to take into account ageing players needing replaced and we sell players without having readily available replacements – our recruitment is appalling. Tactically we struggle against aggressive opposition a long throw causes panic at times we have no shape we can’t break down a defensive opposition and supporters are feeling that we are being taking for mugs £600 at least per head for the most awful TV coverage with no hope of fans returning this season.Time to get your act together ever mind living of your past glories only as good as your last game
