Just when you thought all hope was lost we get hope of an Ajer appearance at Ibrox!

Neil Lennon spoke candidly after the game last night and believed the Norweigan would struggle to be in the side for Ibrox with a groin strain sustained in the early stages against AIK.

However, speaking at his pre-match press conference for Sunday’s tie, the Celtic manager isn’t ruling out a quick comeback and has claimed Ajer has told him he’ll be ready.

“Our injuries have been clearing up pretty well. We’ll have to see about Kris (Ajer) for the weekend but he’s confident about it.” Lennon told CelticTV.

Of course, the player will be desperate to play but it’ll be up to the coaching and medical staff to look after the best interests of the player.

Losing Ajer for Ibrox would be a big blow but if we risk him and he further damages himself the long term ramification would be worse.

It has to be the correct decision in the best interests of both Ajer and the team going forward.

If he does get the all-clear, we’ll be delighted.
