Neil Lennon has given a sobering assessment of Celtic’s own financial position since the football shutdown and with things not getting back to normal any time soon, the money Celtic are losing.

The club are expected by the fans to go all out on their quest for ten in a row, but we now find ourselves in a financial position many wouldn’t have envisioned six months ago. Celtic have still got massive bills to pay with very little income. Yes, they have money in the bank but with deferred and wage cuts coming at an end this month – the club will have to cut their cloth.

Celtic must find the balance between ambition and prudence, with the board mostly airing on the side of prudence over the years, it could be a frustrating summer on the transfer front.

Neil Lennon spoke to the BBC about the issues facing Celtic and every club in the game.
