NEIL LENNON has given Celtic fans a bit of bad news by declaring that Leigh Griffiths will NOT be available for selection during the final home game of the season against Hearts.

The player has been back training in the gym but he’s not been out on any sessions with the full team at the moment and his fitness doesn’t seem to be there yet.

Trophy day seemingly comes too soon for the Scottish striker. When asked if we could see Leigh before the end of the season and more specifically if he’d play any part in the final SPFL game of the season, Neil replied to Celtic TV by saying it’s “not a realistic target”.

Neil had given the fans some hope they would see their charismatic frontman back in action before the end of the season but it looks like he’s run out of time.

This means Leigh will be in pre-season and have a head start on the rest of the first team come the Champions League qualifiers.

Depending on who the new Scotland boss is, the striker may also get some game time for his country during the summer.
