NEIL LENNON has destroyed the myth there have been multiple bids for Kieran Tierney over the past two weeks with the Irishman commenting there has only ever been the first initial bid from Arsenal.

Since then, it has been widely reported that Arsenal have come in with not one but two more offers for the player but Neil Lennon has confirmed this is not the case .

Speaking after his side played out a 0-0 stalemate with Swiss side St Gallen’s – the Celtic manager provided this update:

“As I said last week, the first offer wasn’t what we’d look for and I don’t think we’ve had another one yet,” Lennon told RecordSport.

“It’s as you were. Will it rumble on? Probably.

“These things take their course whether it happens or not. We have a price for our player. He’s on an long-term contract and we won’t sell him for anything less than we feel is the right price.

“It can be unsettling but he’s been okay. He’s not really training with the group but hopefully we’ll see him on the training ground in a week or two.

“In terms of where he is mentally, it’s got to be unsettling for him, it’s only natural.”

Celtic hold all the cards when it comes to the transfer of Kieran Tierney. The player is under a long term contract and they’re not desperate to sell. That’s why they can sit back and ask for how much they want for the player.

So contrary to many Arsenal sites, their club has not been busy with the Kieran Tierney transfer as of this moment. This could change at some point soon – the English transfer window closes in around a months time, weeks before the Scottish window closes. AT that time Arsenal would not be able to bring any new players in but can still sell players to teams in different countries.
