NEIL LENNON has hinted that Celtic fans won’t have to wait very long to see their new defender. Jullien signed for the club on Friday but could play a part in proceedings in Switzerland and next week in Bosnia.

The Celtic manager has been gushing about his new marquee signing and told supporters he’s here to play. Meaning, if he can prove his fitness against St Gallen’s in Switzerland on Tuesday night, the player might go straight into theChampions League starting XI against Sarajevo in Bosnia.

The Frenchman joined up with his new teammates over the weekend and took part in his first training session on Monday. If the friendly comes too soon for the defender, the first leg of the Sarajevo game could be out of reach. However, if Lennon affords him the chance to hit the ground running then we certainly good see him in the heart of Celtic’s defence for the pivotal tie.

Speaking about the player to MailSport, Lennon said:

‘Jullien has been our No1 target for quite a while so it’s really good to get that deal established,’ said Lennon, speaking after his team’s friendly victory over Wiener SC last night.

‘I think he is pleased about it too.

‘The good thing with Jullien is that his wife is British and that will be a big help in terms of him settling.

‘He is certainly not a project. He is hopefully going to come in and hit the ground running.

‘He might need a bit of work to start with and we’ll need to integrate him with the squad but he is coming in to play.’
