NEIL LENNON has let Celtic fans know there’s no injury concern with regards to Jeremie Frimpong after the player was left out of the squad on Wednesday night.

The defender played against Ross County and Aberdeen in back to back SPFL games but Neil Lennon opted to leave him out of the squad for the win against St Mirren to make sure he doesn’t burn out the player quickly.

Jeremie has only played three professional football games in his career to date and the St Mirren game was the perfect time to give him a rest in what’s coming up.

Speaking after the game to CelticTV – the Celtic boss confirmed there was no injury after being asked by a member of the media.

“No, we’re just giving him a break

“We’ve got big games coming up where he’ll feature, we don’t want him playing three games in a week, we don’t know if he can do that just yet.

“Bauer came in, steady eddy, a good pair of hands.”

There’s question marks surrounding Elhamed’s fitness with the player not kicking a ball since coming off against Lazio in the second half during Celtic’s big win in Europe. He was on the bench for both the Aberdeen game and against St Mirren but didn’t get game time in either.

It’s highly unlikely Bauer will start against Hibernian on Saturday night and given Neil Lennon confirmed Jeremie will be getting more game time in big matches – as he just hinted the youngster will play on Saturday?
