NEIL LENNON has confirmed the club are set to complete the signing of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo from Rapid Vienna in the next 48 hours.

Speaking after watching his side play out a 0-0 draw with St Gallen in Switzerland the Celtic manager was confident of landing the left back.

“We are not too far away and he will be another good addition to the squad.” he told SunSport.

“He gives us competition at left back, he’s strong, athletic and good on the ball.”

We reported yesterday the player was very close to a Celtic deal but right now we don’t know if he’s coming in to be a direct replacement for Kieran Tierney or he’s there to provide competition.

Rarely have Celtic spent £3million on a player who has played backup.

The bhoys need to get the deal done before midnight July 4 to make sure Boli is eligible for the first round of the Champions League.

Boli, 24, played against Celtic’s Glasgow rivals during last season’s Europa League and helped put the club out of the competition.

He also had a run in with Alfredo Morelos at the end of the game in Vienna.
