NEIL LENNON has confirmed what we suspected in the case of Vasilis Barkas being completely absent from the squad today.

Many were speculating he was dropped due to form, but that wouldn’t have made much sense considering he wasn’t even on the bench.

Barkas has a back issue and won’t play “ Lennon told the live SkySports cameras.

The Celtic gaffer has now confirmed the goalkeeper has suffered a back injury and is not available, allowing Scott Bain to come in and prove his worth.

There was images of Barkas in training on Friday but Neil Lennon explained the goalkeeper gave his back a try on the field, hoping for a positive reaction, but the player couldn’t manage the whole session.

Celtic have a very capable goalkeeper in Scott bain who will be desperate to show he’s the man to play the rest of the season. Competition is key and if he can make some top saves today, Scott could keep his place. Let’s hope for three points.

  1. Barkas is garbage. When we look back at what is going to be a woeful season of great disappointment. not securing Forster will go down as massive mistake No 1. Time to act quickly. Lennon’s time is up and it may already be too late and it is not yet November. The defence is a shambles. Duffy is a nightmare. He has to be the slowest player I have seen in years. Cost us points today and was to blame on Thursday and against them. Time to seek a tactician with experience. May be a bit old but why not approach Wenger. Season contract to win the ten he might just be interested. In his recent book he said ‘never say never’ to another job.
