JONNY HAYES has emerged as a favourite of Neil Lennon’s since the Celtic manager came into the club in February.

Hayes has enjoyed extended game time under Lennon and has even been preferred to Greg Taylor when it comes to slotting in at left-back for the injured Boli Bolingoli.

With the player’s contract running out at the end of the season, Neil Lennon, Celtic and Jonny have decisions to make. Hayes staying at Celtic isn’t a guarantee and if reports down south are to be believed, there’s interest intaking Hayes south of the border as early as January.

TeamTalk revealed the interest but also ‘exclusively’ confirm the club are going to offer Jonny a new deal.

The website writes: ‘Celtic are set to offer Jonny Hayes a new deal, but a number of clubs are looking to entice him away from the Scottish champions’

Stoke and Huddersfield are among the clubs reported to be interested in the Celtic player.

There are many opinions out there if a new deal would be the best thing for the club with Jonny advancing in years and his role within the squad marginalising as the seasons go on.

It’s up to Neil Lennon and the club to work out what’s best going forward.
