MORITZ BAUER has revealed he and the Celtic manager have sat down and finally spoken since he came to Celtic in the final week of the window.

With a lot going on between the two massive away days to AIK and Ibrox, the defender didn’t really get the chance to have an in-depth chat with the Celtic boss. It’s remarkable after so few games and with not much knowledge of Scottish football or his teammates, the right-back was able to come on as a second half sub at Ibrox and not look out of place.

Bauer was full of energy and acquitted himself well at the back.

Now with the international break; he along with the Celtic manager have had a chance to draw breath and assess everything.

The pair have finally sat down and had a chat and the defender’s throw-in at Ibrox inevitably came up. Moritz through the ball from deep inside the Celtic half to just about the goalkeeper at the other end. It was a ridiculous length of throw and something which caught the eye of some of the Celtic support.

The Stoke City loanee has told CelticTV the manager is aware he has that in his arsenal and could move to use it under certain circumstances.

“When I was converted to a right-back as a youngster at FC Winterthur, my Under-18 coach told me the throw-in can be a weapon

“During the international break we [Bauer and Lennon] had time to sit down and catch up and we spoke about the fact I can bring the long throw-in to the table.

“At Celtic we have Nir Bitton, Kris Ajer and Christopher Jullien, so we have some really good height and we can bring them up for throw-ins. Even if they don’t put it straight in they can get a flick on.”
