There is no hiding it tonight. Celtic have blown their chance at Champions League football with Neil Lennon’s mismanagement of his team on Wednesday evening.
Celtic should be through to the next round of the Champions League but a wasteful Celtic team set up with no striker on the pitch was our downfall on the night.
A hammer blow to Celtic’s hope was Edouard being out injured but with two strikers on the bench, Neil Lennon decided to cram all his favourites onto the field and it’s spectacularly backfired.
The big games, when our neck is on the line in Europe, Neil Lennon has been found wanting. The side who have put us out are nothing special, and with all due respect will go on to do very little in Europe this season.
It’s Cluj, it’s Copenhagen, it’s a mess. Celtic have capitulated spectacularly under Neil Lennon. Not bringing on a striker until we went 2-1 down and leaving Klimala on the bench.
Celtic now drop into Europa League qualifiers.

lennon needs to be sacked tomorrow morning. out of the champions league last year because he refused to play 10m worth of new defenders. out this year because he refused to play any of the 8m worth of strikers and his defence is possibly the worst we’ve seen since the mowbray era.

To me yes its shocking , but its lennons way of saying to the board that we need at least another striker and central defender albeit it was said before the game that it was kennedys training and tactics says it all …kennedy has failed us over and over whether a defensive coach (says it all with diabolical defending) or as now an assistant manager ..the board should have done business early to get players up to speed regardless…but no matter what in my personal opinion I don’t give 2 hoots to any euro comp or any cup comp …as long as we win that coveted title number 10 , although stewart robertson put a motion forward to finish the league after 19 games (50%) if shutdown due to covid 19 as they shoes know that we will be at least 4 games behind due to last 2 being put back and then semi and final from last years scottish cups will set us back another 2 games at least ….they know they can’t beat us to a title over the course of a 38 game season so trying to get it through means that’s they fought so hard against with only 8 games to go ….desperate measures for a team that is still in decline after 5 years in the top flight and at least 40 million in debt with over 15 million due to other clubs with thier finance payments …maybe they will get a PPI payment in 10 years time ?????

Lennon knew (from Petrov) that Fer had a sound 5 man defence yet played Christie as a centre forward. Terrible choice. Was this Strachan siblings input. I’ve never rated JK as a manager defence has been terrible time and time again only ever see him on the touchline when we are winning. Time also to look at Scott Brown’s future role. He was lost when he tried to move forward.
