It is going to be hard to draw breath between now and the winter break for Celtic staff and fans alike. The Bhoys have ten games to play between now and the end of the year. With European football already guaranteed for the Hoops you may be forgiven for thinking Neil Lennon might fancy some squad rotation but you would be wrong.

Speaking after Celtic’s 4-0 trashing of Livingston yesterday on Celtic TV the manager wants to finish off the group as table toppers.

“I can’t do that, It’s a European night at home and there’s still work to do in the group. I want to get it done. And then we can take another look at it. But if we take our eye off the ball we could get done. And psychologically we don’t want that either.”

“I think it’s important we don’t take our foot off the gas. We want to finish top because in theory that might help you get a more favourable draw. Hopefully, Lazio take points off Cluj meaning a win on Thursday guarantees us top spot with a game to spare. That would then give me the luxury of maybe using the squad in Romania.”

In the mix of the ten games is two massive Glasgow derbies. One will be played at Hampden for the first chance of silverware this season while the other could see the Bhoys open up a bit of a gap at the top of the table.

There is a lot of football to be played between now and then but Lennon’s mindset will encourage fans for the upcoming cluster of games.
