NEIL LENNON has told Celtic TV the players are ready for their showdown in France and has hinted the team has been picked for days.

The Celtic manager responded ot a question about how the team might line up on Thursday night against a very capable Rennes side.

The bhoys go in as underdogs but the Celtic boss has done his homework and is looking to cause a shock.

“We are not expecting to have the bulk of possession, which we normally have.

“Rennes are excellent on the ball and use the 3-5-2 system very, very well. They have had some stellar results already this season, including beating PSG, and they are sitting second in Ligue 1.

“We have given this game quite a bit of thought over the last few days and we have worked on a few things, and the players are ready.”

If they have put so much work and thought into the game there’s no doubt the players who are starting already knew who they were before getting on the plane on Wednesday afternoon.

Neil Lennon will have had to make some sacrifices to deal with certain dangers. Not everyone who is deserving of a place on the night will get one and it’s up to the Celtic boss to utilise his whole squad if he can.

Rennes start to the season means if Celtic get a point it would be seen as a good result.
