NEIL LENNON has made the admission Kieran Tierney wasn’t 100% fit to play the game on Sunday which came back to bite them in the second half of the Glasgow Derby on Sunday.

Tierney had dropped out of international duty the week prior and reports building up to the game had the player potentially missing out on the derby. However, when the team sheet came through the defender was in the starting XI, much to the delight of the Celtic faithful.

Tierney put in a good shift for the first hour but started to fade away and it became clear he wasn’t moving comfortably when the defender refused to hit the byline a couple of times before he came off. It was a gamble by Neil Lennon and you can say it has paid off with a win BUT how much will this set the player back in the coming weeks?

Speaking to CelticTV after the game, Neil made the admission they knew about Kieran’s ongoing problem while also addressing Boyata coming off late on.

“We knew Kieran had an ongoing problem. But the Dedryck one is a bit of a bad one. It’s came out of left-field.”

Boyata had to go off with Celtic having no subs left to make, the team down to ten men for the final quarter of an hour. Luckily, Celtic grabbed the all important winner in the last ten minutes.
