Neil Lennon has provided and update on Celtic’s transfer window so far and explained the difficulty trying to get the right players in during this time of year.
Celtic are still to bring in a high profile signing this month and Neil Lennon has been hopeful of some movement before the bhoys get back to action against Thistle in the Scottish Cup.
A lot of fans have also been wondering about players in the background that have yet to get their chance in the first team. The Celtic boss addressed Maryan Shved and Daniel Arzani – giving some home the players will get their chance before too long.
“January is a difficult month to bring players in. Other clubs know that when you are the buying club, agents do as well,” Lennon told CelticTV.
“However, we have a number of options and got our eye on a few players and hopefully we will have a result in the next few days.
“Across the board we’re looking at options. Already a couple of players have left – Scott [Sinclair, to Preston North End] and Lewis [Morgan, to MLS side Inter Miami].
“This might streamline it a little bit more but across the board we’re looking to bring a couple of players in,” Lennon added.
”They’ve all trained well. It’s good to see Daniel Arzani back, Maryan Shved has had a good week [as well].
“The senior ones like Chris Jullien, [Scott] Brown, [Callum] McGregor, [Olivier] Ntcham – they’ve all trained very well.
“They’ve taken a few bumps and bruises so hopefully we’ll get the rest of the squad up to speed for Monday/Tuesday and then we’ll look forward to the game”
The reports on Sunday suggest Celtic are on course to land Polish striker Patryk Klimala [Read More].
The club could unveil new players next week.
Shved has already managed to get his first goal for the club in the limited time he’s had on the field.
It would be great if the winger got a run out and took the pressure off James Forrest and also push the Scottish midfielder.
