NEIL LENNON told the media in his post match conference that he dropped John McGinn due to a thigh injury.

However, the Lurgan man did let slip he would’ve likely kept John off the field anyway because his head isn’t right.

“He wasn’t 100 percent in terms of fitness and he’s not mentally 100 percent either.

“But if John is to go, I need to go I need to look at what else I’ve got.”

Hibs tore through their opponents last night to run out 6-1 winners without their star midfielder.

News in today’s press suggest it’s going to take £3.5million for Hibs to let go of the player whose contract runs out in a years time.

Brendan Rodgers would like John in before the start of the domestic season but it may not be possible if Hibs stick for their guns.
