NEIL LENNON gave a very honest answer to Celtic’s current transfer window situation.

There will be no exceptions as Celtic go for ten in a row, which means every player is for sale at the right price.

Celtic fans have come to expect the club selling off their best players, or at least one of their best players most summer. However, with the club chasing history we would’ve thought the club would be more resolute and if there was one season to buck the trend, it would be now.

Instead, the Celtic boss readied the support for the inevitable summer of speculation and potential moving on of some of their stars.

“It is difficult to say, particularly in this climate currently, that a player is not going anywhere, because everyone has a price. Ideally we don’t want to sell our best players and we will remain steadfast on that. But if an offer comes in then I’m sure the club will consider it and do the best thing possible for the club going forward.” Lennon told SunSport.

“But it’s not just hard for me, it’s hard for all managers right now. It will be interesting to see how the market opens up. You just don’t know. The English Premier League is not finished yet but when they do they will be starting to look around.

“It might speed up before the new season starts but at the minute we have had no enquiries for any of our players. Nothing at all.”

The transfer window will be open until October. It very well could mean selling a top player two months into the season and weeks before the first Glasgow Derby. It’s the reality of the football landscape in which the club operate.

The frustrating thing is we rarely build on a position of strength and right now, Celtic are weaker than they are last season without losing any of our permanent players.

There’s a long way to go but we never do anything the easy way.
