Nobody could blame Neil Lennon for not fielding Vasilis Barkas against Hamilton on Sunday. The player had just made the move, and only had two or three sessions with his new teammates.

However, when Saturday comes around, I fully expect the Celtic manager to drop Scott Bain, making way for Barkas to make his debut.

It’s off to Kilmarnock for Celtic at the weekend, as always, we have the pitch to contend with which doesn’t seem to get easier. The bhoys will have to adapt to the conditions and Barkas will likely get his first taste of Scottish football, diving around a glorified five-a-side pitch.

Bain didn’t do anything wrong on Sunday, some claimed he should have done better for the goal conceded but two deflections absolve him as far as I’m concerned. But Barkas has been brought in for decent money and must now bed in quickly, which should start at Rugby Park.

Bain is capable, but we must give Vasilis every chance to succeed.
