NEIL LENNON spoke about giving vital game time to some of his fringe players. He specified the likes of Kilmala, Soro and Turnbull and earmarked them for the dead rubber against Lille.
However, the one man who should be top of the list is Leigh Griffiths.
Leigh has had a very stop and stop and start season but he’s injury free now and desperately needs minutes to get him up to speed.
There are some players who can train and get where they need to be fitness wise, other players just need games. If he’s only playing a few minutes here or there, it’s impossible to get back up to speed and match sharp.
Leigh should be starting against Lille this evening and should be given at least an hour in the hope he can start to up his game and be ready for the Kilmarnock game on Sunday.
When it comes to the Celtic striker, he can be a big difference domestically, He knows where the back of the net is and proved it time and time again. When we need to be scoring as many goals as possible because our defence isn’t up to scratch, it’s time to lean on him more.
