NEIL LENNON has credited Brendan Rodgers with an assists as Celtic booked themselves into another League Cup Final at the expense of Hibernian on Saturday night.

The bhoys put five past the Edinburgh side and never looked like losing the tie.

The result made it 30 consecutive wins for Celtic in cup competitions – a run that was started by Brendan Rodgers when he came into the club.

Celtic have been unrelenting in their pursuit of silverware and seem to kick it up a gear when they need to.

Neil Lennon can’t stress enough how hard it is to keep coming out and performing. Teams can have bad days and in a knockout competition – even the best could end up on the wrong side of the result. He continues to see his side hungry for trophies after all this time and is delighted with that he seen at Hampden.

Speaking after the match – Lennon spoke about the mentality Brendan Rodgers instilled in the players.

“I don’t know where it ranks in terms of British football and records, but it’s amazing.” Lennon told RecordSport.

“Anything can happen on any given day. You get bad days – I’ve had them as a player and a manager – but Brendan Rodgers has put this sort of mentality in place and we’re trying to carry that on. The players just don’t want to give that up.

“Everyone’s coming for them but they want to stand there toe to toe with them and keep going.
