Celtic manager, Neil Lennon has given fans an update as this week the club began their pre-season training in preparation for the beginning of the new campaign on the 2nd August.

Speaking to Gerry McCulloch for Celtic TV,  from the teams current Loughborough base, the Northern Irishman talked about several first-team players as well as the plan for the restart next month.

“It’s so important that we concentrate first and foremost on the start of the campaign and make sure we are in the right mindset, make sure we are in the right physical condition and get used to the environment and all the different situations.

Every game is gonna be hugely critical from our point of view because of what we could achieve as a group and as a club. So we have to be really focused.”

The team will be playing under much different circumstances than what they are used too when it comes to the beginning of this season, with no fans being allowed in the ground for the short-term future.

We must kick off this season, as strong as we possibly can, due to both these circumstances and what is actually at stake in such an essential season in the club’s history. The pre-season trip that we are currently on should do the players a world of good, to be ready for the first game against Hamilton Accies at the beginning of next month.
