Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon was delighted to hear of a batch of Hoops supporters watching his new side in Cyprus in action whilst on holiday, as he stated that the fans will have had a ‘very good weekend’ after Sunday’s Glasgow Derby result.

The 50-year old recently took up his first managerial role since his Celtic departure in February 2021, making the surprise move to Cyrpus to manage Omonia.

Lennon was able to pick up his first win in his new job this afternoon, as his side defeated Paeek 4-2, and he was informed in his post-match press conference that some Celtic fans had made the trip to watch Omonia.

The ex Celtic boss seemed happy to hear of some familiar fans travelling to see his side pick up their first three points and hailed the Hoops for their big result against Rangers on Sunday.

Of course, as many will remember, Neil Lennon’s time at Celtic did not come to a nice ending after an extremely disappointing season last year.

We have also seen some of Lennon’s thoughts over the last few months and weeks on his departure and Ange’s side at times, which have added to the woes in his relationship with the support.

With Lennon enjoying mostly success during his time as a player and manager, hopefully, this spell abroad can prove as a good opportunity to get away from the limelight, given how bad his time in Glasgow ended.

I am sure the former Celtic man would have been enjoying yesterday’s result too, which looks true with his reaction when speaking about the big win.
