NEIL LENNON reacted to the news Devante Cole would not be picked up by the SFA disciplinary committee after his spinning heel kick on Ismailia Soro at the weekend.

While on the ground, the Motherwell player clearly kicked out in an act of petulance. However, the referee, Nick Walsh, flanked by his linesman only gave Cole a yellow card for the incident.

Replays show it should’ve been a red. Given the SFA have been proactive lately with disciplinary matters, many expected Cole to be charged with violent conduct but it hasn’t been forthcoming.

The SFA appear satisfied the foul was only a yellow card.

Given Celtic were inches away from dropping two points on Saturday, that dismal decision could have cost us. It’s incredible to think Ajeti was dragged before the disciplinary panel while Cole won’t have to at all.

Neil Lennon echoed those sentiments but wanted to make it clear he’s not a proponent of trying to get players suspended.

Ajeti’s compared to Cole’s is night and day.” Neil Lennon told CelticTV. “Listen, the last thing I look for is for players to be sent off and I’m not convinced it was serious foul play either but compared to what Ajeti’s done, why it’s not being looked at is beyond me.

“Even though I can understand where Motherwell are coming from on that as well.

“This one in particular is a strange one for me. We are sort of re-refereeing games now which, in essence, is the right thing to do.

“If there’s been some sort of foul play that the referee has missed then, yes, I think they should be punished or looked at.”
